Working Neighbourhoods

Purpose of Service

Working Neighbourhoods gives support back into training and employment to people who may require additional help in overcoming barriers such as health conditions, caring responsibilities, childcare, lack of confidence, lack of language skills, substance misuse or any other issue standing in the way of their return to the labour market.

What the Service can do for Clients

Our Matrix accredited team of advisors can offer assistance with jobseeking, such as

We can also

help match your skills with careers and with current vacancies
offer temporary work through our recruitment service
offer access to voluntary work, work placements and work trials

We can identify relevant training, both in-house and external. This can include

accredited occupational training
basic skills and employability courses
job specific training
skills for life.

Our aim is to help individuals raise their aspirations and boost their confidence in finding the right training and obtaining sustainable employment. You will receive

support from an individual advisor
information, advice and guidance,
advice on addressing barriers to employment.
advice on how you can be better off in work.

Our support doesn't stop once you are in work. We offer continuing in work support and may be able to offer free training.

Eligibility

In order access the Working Neighbourhoods Service clients must meet the criteria below:
18 - 65
Customers are eligible for our services from day one of unemployment.

You can access our free, confidential and impartial services as little or as much as you like. Attendance is voluntary and will not affect your entitlement to benefits.
