Purpose of Service

Merseyside
To support individuals meeting the criteria below to improve their basic skills levels to Entry 1 level and above in either literacy, numeracy or ESOL through training.

Manchester East and West
To support individuals to improve their English language to Entry 1 level and above through training.  Delivering ESOL classes to improve any of the following areas, if not all - speaking, listening, reading or writing.

As well as aimed at improving skills levels these courses will support individuals in moving into employment while on programme and / or further training once they have completed their course with Work Solutions.

What the Service can do for Clients

• To improve your skills and job prospects through long term Skills for Life training. The programme is for 26 weeks, attendance is between 12 to 15 hours per week depending on which programme is accessed.
• You will receive an Initial Needs Assessment of how we can best help you, with regular reviews to discuss options and progress with our qualified staff. You will recieve an Individual Career Action Plan which will explore your future career and work out the steps to get there through setting practical and realistic objectives and goals.
• There is the Potential for Work Placements for the ‘fast trackers' to gain or update experience and knowledge in certain occupational areas.
• Your CV to be quality checked/prepared by one of our team in our CV workshops. This will ensure that you are presenting yourself in the best possible light to employers.
• Job Application Support when applying for vacancies plus lots of sessions to improve communication, reading and writing.

In order access the Adult Foundation Service clients must meet the criteria below:
16+
Unemployed
Claiming Working Age Benefit
Has the Right to Work in the UK
Assessed at below Entry 1 on either of the Skills Levels
