Purpose of Service

Free information and Advice to adults living in the Greater Manchester area via:

Universal 1:1 - A wide range of information on learning and work which may include information on courses, careers and the job market, Grant and Funding help and childcare.

Universal Group:  Help with completing your CV, what to include in a CV and how to make your CV right for the job you are applying for.


Practice completing job application forms, answer any questions you may find difficult on forms, and help with completing a personal statement.

Improve your interview skills by practicing questions that may be asked when applying for jobs and also look at questions you may want to ask when going for an interview.

Look at what you need to do when searching for a job, what employers look for when they are filling job vacancies and useful job search web sites.

D&P: This service provides on-going in-depth support to enable you to identify and overcome barriers to accessing learning and work

General information:

Nextstep and Skills Coach staff work in the community for easy access to our client group. Supporting employers with redundancy, identifying a suitable support package that meets the employers needs and supporting staff through the redundancy process with some or all of the nextstep support.

We also provide Support for Employers seeking to develop their Workforce.

What the Service can do for Clients

  • You will be provided with an Individual Needs Assessment which will lead to being provided with ongoing Information, Advice and Guidance by one of our friendly and supportive staff.
  • We will respond to your request within 1 working day.
  • If we are unable to help you, we will signpost you to other sources of help.
  • Appointments for advice will be available within 5 working days.
  • Where ever possible, appointments will be made at a venue near to you.
  • Advisors may offer appointments outside of normal working hours.
