Purpose of Service

The Skills for Jobs service is a one-to-one complete support service to help offenders gain employment through removing barriers and opening doors to training, employers and personal issues. The key aim of the service is, via appropriate stepping stone goals, to give ex-offenders the chance and skills to move into employment.

Our trained staff will give you expert and confidential advice and will work with you to help you achieve your personal goals.

What the Service does for Clients

  • An Individual Needs Assessment where our friendly trained staff will give Information and Advice to help identify the best way we can assist you into training or employment
  • We will create an individual action plan for us to work together with you at achieving your goals
  • CV Workshops to create or improve an existing CV to help promote yourself in the best possible light to employers
  • You will have the opportunity to access Basic Skills Training to help develop your numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Key skills such as reading and writing assistance are available along with the possibility of Job Specific Training courses to help you get job ready, such as First Aid Courses
  • Debt, Grants and Funding Advice about benefits and how to manage your finances
  • Health & Family issues
  • We will address your personal skills through simple, Confidence Building training and motivational thinking techniques

Eligibility

In order for clients to access the Skills for Jobs service you must meet the criteria below:
Aged 19+
Ex-offender seen by Greater Manchester Probation Authority
