What We Do

The Chamber's Local Council in Manchester consists of a group of members who meet to discuss issues pertinent to businesses in Manchester itself, focusing on the local issues or local implications of wider issues.

The Manchester Team

The Manchester Local President is Ray Makin of Makin Architects, a long-standing stalwart of Manchester business and former chair of Manchester Civic Society.

The Vice President is Malcolm Evans of Funding Enterprise.

Our Activity

Manchester Local Council has undertaken work looking at the following:

• Attitudes to innovation
• The potential problems that could arise from the Metrolink 2nd City Crossing project
• The issue of an elected mayor for Manchester
• The impact of recent increases in car parking charges.
