Work Solutions exists to tackle worklessness. We understand that work is about more than income - it lends respect, pride and independence to people's lives. Our mission is expressed through delivering services that provide practical help to workless individuals. Much of our work focuses upon helping people who face barriers to work - by improving their employability skills, their self-confidence, motivation and aspiration to find work and to progress within it. Our work brings us into contact with people who may have been away from the job market for long periods of time, with lone parents, with ex-offenders, with people with a history of drug and alcohol problems and - increasingly in 2009 - with those facing redundancy. We understand that to achieve our aim of helping people into work we need to understand, engage with and support employers too: Our Employer Services support them in finding permanent and temporary staff with the attitudes and skills they need - and to find them from amongst the ranks of the people we need to help into work. Examples of our work here include large-scale recruitment for companies such as Tesco and the AA as well as our temporary staff social employment agency "Aspire". Work Solutions is a not-for-profit organisations which means that any surplus we are able to generate is invested back into the business for the benefit of those we work with. Our "bottom-line" is a social and economic one as well as financial. Work Solutions offer a wide range of services across the North West - you can find out more here.
